How can I become a Licenced Doctor in Gujarat
The Gujarat Medical Council is a statutory body constituted in September 1998, under the provisions of the Gujarat Medical Council Act, 1967 (Gujarat ACT NO. 10 OF 1968). Gujarat Medical Council is vested with powers, duties and function of regulating the practice of Modern Scientific System of Medicine, including the registration and licencing of doctors graduating or practicing in the state of Gujarat.

Practitioners registered on GMC portal can then apply for different services and upload relevant documents as mentioned in the portal. After paying the requisite fees, candidates will have to choose dates for appointment and appear at the GMC Council Head Office with original documents mentioned online and photocopies (Supporting documents vary based on the applications and services required). The candidate will receive the original or certificated via registered post within 25-30 days after physical verification.

- Permanent Registration – Local and for those with degrees outside Gujarat
- Additional Degree Registration
- No Objection Certificate/Good Standing certificate
- Change Request – Name and Address
- Duplicate Copy of Registration
- Permanent Registration – College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai (CPS)
- Provisional Registration – College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai (CPS)
- MCI Good Standing Certificate

Continuous Medical Education
Gujarat Medical Council offers Credit Points to the registered Medical Practitioners. A Physician should participate in professional meetings as part of Continuing Medical Education Programs and should earn 30 hours per year or 150 Credit Points for every 5 years.
For each CME/State/National/International Conference/ Workshop will be awarded minimum Credit Points as per the schedule of the conference.

Half day CME | : | 2 Credit Points |
One day conference | : | 4 Credit Points |
Two day conference | : | 8 Credit Points |
Three day conference | : | 12 Credit Points |
Doctors will need to send certificate of attendance to the GMC while claiming Credit Points.
